The tech industry has served as a battleground for some notable rivalries. The Pc versus Mac wars are going on strong more than 20 years after Apple launched the Macintosh line of computer systems. Microsoft, Apple and Google have been in some excessive-profile squabbles over the years. Then there's the seemingly limitless series of patent wars between varied companies claiming mental property violations. One of many more recent wars is being fought over a selected area of interest in the tech market -- low-price tablets. Two of the combatants come to the pill platform over the identical pathway: digital publishing. The rivals are Amazon with its Kindle Fire tablet and Barnes & Noble with the Nook Tablet. These devices are reading gadgets capable of displaying electronic textual content in black and white, using expertise from an organization known as eInk. The units are are portable, able to carrying a small library's worth of books and so they drain little or no power. The tablets go a number of steps further -- they ditch the eInk for shade LCD screens, a touch-screen interface and the ability to display a number of sorts of media.
